Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
