Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
