Netflix Selects Ideal Performer for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3
Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a adored, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bentham. This character possesses the power to change into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and anime.
The new cast member joins a number of recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to life, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as the ruler of the desert kingdom.
Although the role is a major member of Baroque Works, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Given the second season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this represents a notable change in the placement of their first appearance, one that could suggest additional alterations to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a ideal selection for the character. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
