The Perfect Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Super Form Based on the Astrological Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement across the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of newcomers before the title's launch, to trainers developing firm opinions on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive designs that emphasize their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? The following is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. But, a Super Houndoom appears as constantly angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. That's why the Ram much more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when angered. Stay on the friendly side of either and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its regular and Super Form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed love of treats. Several past official descriptions note their craving for tasty tree sap and how it uses its horn to collect it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Look at this absolute queen. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, offering an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wants to hear. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly easy to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s official description also mentions its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which seems quite like a socially-savvy Twins.
The Crab – Super Manectric
The Crab is widely considered as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol known for frequently getting wrapped up in their feelings. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's excessive for Manectric to completely control,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its ability to create a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Aside from the fact that it would be much too obvious, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Players couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored across this creature's whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo sends to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a strategy.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Observe this gentle, sensitive being, who uses the feelers on its ears to detect how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the peace, there are numerous Libras who would likely benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them stress more about others.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure hatred and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds precisely like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal match with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a performance. As a Sagittarius myself, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to display its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee disasters in advance? That exudes the identical energy as a Goat, who tends to always believe they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof element Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire sign that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Super Form's description says it “draws in negative energy and transforms it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
