Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events swept through the region, bringing powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Locals reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Rescue organizations received 598 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both regions.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to significant health impacts in the area.
